Group exercise is typically defined as "exercise performed by a group of individuals led by an instructor" - but at Xcelerate Fitness it is so much more!  Our instructors love what they do and they want to see our members meet their fitness goals.  All our group exercise classes are part of your monthly dues - NO EXTRA COSTS FOR CLASSES!  We also provide one of the most extensive group exercise calendars in the Valley.

Group exercise offers a variety of benefits you might miss out on if you choose to work out on your own. Some of the benefits include exposure to a social and fun environment, a safe and effectively designed workout, a consistent exercise schedule, an accountability factor for participating in exercise, and a workout that requires no prior exercise knowledge or experience. 

The Zumba® program fuses hypnotic Latin rhythms and easy-to-follow moves to create a one-of-a-kind fitness program that will blow you away. The routines feature interval training sessions where fast and slow rhythms and resistance training are combined to tone and sculpt your body while burning fat. Add some Latin flavor and international zest into the mix and you've got a Zumba® class!

Zumba Gold is for active older adults who are looking for a modified Zumba®class that recreates the original moves you love at a lower-intensity.

The design of the class introduces easy-to-follow Zumba®choreography that focuses on balance, range of motion and coordination. Come ready to sweat, and prepare to leave empowered and feeling strong.

Tabata is a high-intensity workout style that has fitness and weight-loss benefits. The class is broken into timed intervals, working at a high intensity - then taking a short rest.  The theory behind the class is if your body only knows it has to work for a short interval, it will exert more energy.

 Tabata training will raise your metabolism and heart rate immediately. Since you are performing exercises at a very high intensity, your body will have to work much harder to keep it up. Your metabolism will stay at that high not only during the workout, but after the workout as well. This means that your body will be burning fat for hours after.

To get better balance, power and agility, Kickboxing is king among workouts. Experts who have studied the sport say nearly everyone—even older people who might shy away from such things—can benefit from throwing a punch.

Kickboxing training tends to involve shorts bouts, two to three minutes long, of intense, repetitive movement—like hitting a punching bag over and over again and kicking and kneeing a pad someone else is holding. “If you look at the research on high-intensity interval training [HIIT], you see these short, intense periods of activity can have big benefits,” he says. Some research shows that even very brief stretches—just 60 seconds—of HIIT can offer the same gains in heart and lung health as 45 minutes of less-intense exercise.

The Spinning® program is an individually paced, non-competitive, group training program designed for all ages and fitness levels. Each bike is equipped with an adjustable resistance knob, which allows each student to select his/her own level of intensity.

As an Official Spinning Facility, you're not only getting the world's most tested line of bikes and comprehensive training program, you're getting the benefit of 10+ years of experience in providing the highest level of indoor cycling in the industry. Our STAR 1 and STAR 3 certified instructors have been trained to coach new students and help all participants achieve a fun, safe and challenging workouts. Instructors also employ Spinning® Energy Zones™, which define target heart rate zones for specific training goals. By employing heart rate training, students receive a highly personalized workout.

In ballet training, the barre is the horizontal handrail dancers grip while perfecting their technique. Barre-style workouts take those classic ballet warmup exercises and reimagine them for a much wider audience.  At Xcelerate we offer our version - X-BARRE.

The workout is primarily a leg-and-butt workout; from your ankles and calves up through your knees, hips and glutes, barre movements are all about improving range of motion, strength and flexibility in your lower half by forcing one of your legs to perform graceful and precise movements while the other supports and stabilizes your body.

SilverSneakers is a free fitness program for seniors that’s helping millions of boomers and beyond defy the odds, shatter stereotypes and answer every challenge with, “I can do this!” 

SilverSneakers includes unlimited access to every participating gym and fitness center in the network.  The SilverSneakers fitness classes are for all abilities led by certified instructors. At Xcelerate Fitness we offer three different SilverSneakers formats.

Even if your insurance does not participate in the SilverSneakers program, you are welcome to join our SilverSneakers classes.

Classic - Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscle strength, range of movement and activities for daily living. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles and a SilverSneakers ball are offered for resistance. A chair is used for seated exercises and standing support. This class can be adapted by the student depending on their fitness level and abilities. It is suitable for beginning to intermediate skill levels.

Circuit - The SilverSneakers Circuit workout offers standing, low-impact choreography alternated with standing upper-body strength work with hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles and a SilverSneakers ball.  A chair is available for support. This class is suitable for nearly every fitness level and can be adapted depending on the skill of individual participants.

Yoga - Get ready to move through a complete series of seated and standing yoga poses. Chair support is offered so you can perform a variety of seated and standing postures designed to increase flexibility, balance and range of movement. Restorative breathing exercises and final relaxation will promote stress reduction and mental clarity. This class is suitable for nearly every fitness levels.

Cardio - A safe and heart-healthy aerobics class to energize your active lifestyle using low-impact movements that focus specifically on building upper-body and core strength plus cardio endurance. This is a higher intensity class than Classic and Circuit.
