Giving Thanks

November is a time to reflect on what we have to be grateful for, before the rush of December. It may be difficult to do with Christmas trees in the department stores, Hallmark Christmas movies playing daily and Starbucks distributing their famous "red" cups. But I encourage you to take the time to reflect on all you have to be thankful's good for you!

That's right! I have been reading articles and blogs about the health benefits of being thankful. Just google "health benefits of being thankful" ... articles pop up about the research that supports grateful people are more hopeful, healthy, sleep better, have better self-esteem, are more resilient and there is a laundry list of additional benefits as well.

The most important thing about being grateful is it causes us to focus on the positives, rather than the negatives in our life. To be thankful, we must pause and reflect on what is good, what is worthwhile and what brings joy in our life. And when we do that, we feel better about our life, our world and ourselves. Take some time to be thankful today!
